Ophthalmological Glossary

We offer the following Menu of Patient Services to keep your eyes healthy or improve your vision:

Routine Eye Care: Including refraction and annual eye exams.

Pediatric Care: Including amblyopia (reduced vision caused by vision deprivation at a young age) and strabismus (commonly referred to as crossed-eyes) evaluations.

Glaucoma Care: Diagnosis and treatment including laser treatments. The office camera (the OCT) examines the optic nerve, important in assessing glaucoma. Visual field evaluation, also critical, is available.

Cataract Care: Diagnosis and treatment. Drs. Jenkins and Omphroy specialize in no-stitch, no-needle, no-patch, small incision cataract surgery. They use optical coherence biometry (used to measure eye structures and preoperative calculations) to precisely measure eye parameters to accurately calculate the intraocular lens power.

Diabetic Eye Care: Diagnosis and treatment of diabetic eye disease including laser surgery.

Age-related Eye Care: Diagnosis and treatment of age-related eye disease including presbyopia (inability to focus on close objects) and macular degeneration (blurred vision).

Cornea Eye Care: Diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the cornea. We map the front surface of the eye with the corneal topographer, an important tool in the evaluation of corneal disease including ptergium (caused by harsh weather, affecting the cornea and vision).

Refractive Surgery: LASIK, PRK
